Why the fans can still spin
The fans and lighting run from the card's input power. The GPU core and memory need their own power rails, generated on the card. If one of those rails fails, the fans keep spinning while the card produces no picture.
What usually causes it
- A missing power rail for the core or memory.
- A failed memory chip.
- Corrupted firmware (VBIOS).
- Physical damage — a cracked component, a bent card, or a damaged connector.
What we do
We check each power rail on the board to find the one that's missing, trace the failed part, and quote you for that repair before doing anything.
Questions
Will reinstalling drivers fix it?
Not if there's no picture at all, even in the BIOS. Drivers only load after the PC has already shown a display.
Send us the card model and what it's doing.
A photo of the label on the back of the card and a short description of the fault is enough to start. Prices depend on the fault, so we don't list them here — we diagnose first for free, quote you, and only repair if you say yes.
